Evening Stroll

Dress and Necklace: Anthropologie | Cardigan: Club Monaco | Clutch: Friis Company | Shoes: Gap

After a busy start to our week my boyfriend and I decided to take ourselves out to a nice dinner, followed by a walk through a neighbourhood full of vibrant green trees and extravagant homes. We took turns picking out which house we'd buy if we won the lottery.

Since we have barely experienced spring, let alone summer in Vancouver, I find myself wearing maxi dresses much more than the usual leg bearing dress (in fear of frost bite...seriously!) Hopefully July will be more promising.

The Little Things

Most of my belongings are still currently living in  Montreal with my boyfriend, but I decided that I needed to add a few special touches to my temporary space to help make it feel like home...

- pink peonies in a mason jar
- sparkly knobs and a printed bowl for my go-to jewelry
- displaying one of my favorite dresses by Tracy Reese
- necklaces and a printed pillow to brighten up my bedroom

Food Board

Have you heard of Pinterest yet? If not, you MUST check it out. It's basically a collection of beautiful images that you can pin and create your own online inspiration boards from. I discovered this amazing site thanks to my lovely friend Andrew (not to be confused with my boyfriend, also Andrew!) Check out his personal blog here and his Martha blog here. These are a few examples of my boards, check out the rest here!

Jacket: Anthropologie | Dress: Free People | Shoes: Matt Bernson

I'm loving the look of military jackets. I now own two, and am considering investing in a vest as well... Maybe that's a little much but I think when you find something that works you should go with it!

I mentioned in this post that wedges were my favorite spring trend, so I obviously couldn't help myself when I found this pair of Matt Bernson's. If you haven't already heard of this amazing New York designer (a former construction worker!) then be sure to check out his website. I'm thinking these will need to be my next purchase!

blueberry muffins

Over the winter baking (and photographing it) became a new hobby of mine. I have always loved to cook, but for some reason baking had never interested me, maybe because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. (I know, kind of crazy, I'm just more of a savory food kind of girl!) However, something about the cold Montreal winter inspired me to make warm, comforting treats, and once I started I couldn't stop! Not only do I love the act of baking, but I LOVE the happiness it brings others when you give them treats. Now I'm just trying to convince my boyfriend that we need to invest in a KitchenAid mixer.... (HINT HINT)

I found this blueberry muffin recipe on Martha's website, which is a favorite of mine, and I was truly impressed!

the sea, the sky

Top: Anthropologie | Jeans: BDG | Necklace:Pam Hiran | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

We found this pier on the way to Whistler, and being the tourist in my new city that I am, made Andrew pull over so we could take in the view. (Actually, I made him pull over about five other times too...the drive is just so beautiful!)

The weather finally took a turn for the better this past weekend, I swear I can feel summer just around the corner. I promise to start posting some outfits that don't include my jeans soon! (I hope)

may photobook

- Michael by Michael Kors bag and silver jewelry
- Lilac trees
- Coffee dates
- Shopping and chocolate mustaches with my bestie
- Typography store on Main
- Mountains on a clear day (one of few in May)
- Rain boots were needed too often
- Pretty shop in Gas town

I can't say I'm sad to see May come to an end. Not only did it rain almost every day, but it was a very busy month for me. As you know, I've moved across the country, started a new job and started this blog. All in one month! I am extremely happy with all of these changes, but I am excited for a new month (maybe some rest) and hopefully some new weather!
