I try and make the best of my tiny 5x5 balcony. A few window boxes filled with herbs (that I enjoy daily), pots filled with flowers and of course a barbecue. One day we will have a larger space that we can actually fit furniture on, but for now this will due!

Trend Crush: Market Tote
one: Sole Society | two: Club Monaco | three: Club Monaco | four: J.Crew
As you may know by now, I am slightly obsessed with markets. Almost every Saturday or Sunday I visit the Vancouver Farmer's Market, and anytime I travel I try to visit one. Which is why for me a straw market tote is a summer staple, not to mention the perfect beach bag. I currently own two, and somehow have been convincing myself lately that I need another (it's this exact thought process that has lead me to owning way too many striped shirts and boyfriend jeans). What are some of your summer staples?

Chunky Guacamole
There is nothing that screams summer to me more than guacamole. Admittedly I am quite obsessed, one of my favourite snack, breakfast, lunch or dinner items. I could seriously eat it all day long and for me, the chunkier the better. Hopefully you enjoy this recipe as much as I do (and currently am while writing this post!)
Ingredients:
4 avocados
1 lime
1/2 a shallot
1 plum tomato (or 2!)
1 jalapeño
a bunch of cilantro
1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
Slice avocados in half lengthwise and scoop out centre into a bowl. Mash with a fork. Squeeze in juice of one lime. Dice shallot and jalapeño (seeds removed) and chop tomato and cilantro. Mix in with avocado, add salt and enjoy!

Wedding Planning
images from my two favourite wedding blogs once wed and style me pretty
Ever since Andrew popped the question all I can think about is our wedding. I try my best to focus on other things, school, general conversations, etc, but I am just too excited! After looking at venues last weekend, the reality that we are planning a wedding has really set in. Both in an exciting way and in a very overwhelming and slightly stressful way. I was surprised to find several venues were already booked for next summer and even the one after that, and quickly came to the realization that we need to get the ball rolling!
I have a pretty good idea of what I'd like our wedding to look like, which perhaps makes finding the right venue harder, but I am up for the challenge. As much as I know the whole process will be overwhelming and stressful at times, I'm looking forward to it and of course so excited to marry the love of my life!

May Photobook
{ a little friend we brought home from Peru }
{ a relaxing weekend in Gibsons }
{ checking out wedding venues in the Okanagan }
{ getting pinned after doing some wine tasting at Dirty Laundry winery }
{ hiking in Deep Cove }
May flew by so quickly. I feel like I just got back from my vacation, yet somehow I've been home for a month! I'm looking forward to the next few months of summer, which seem like they will be an extra special few months. My mom has decided to come live in BC, which I am so excited about. We are so close and living so far from each other for the past few years has been hard. My fiancé and I are starting to plan our wedding, which is both extremely overwhelming and exciting, and I have some big plans for this little blog soon! I hope you are all as excited about the arrival of June as I am!
