Jewelry Storage

Last week I shared my newly organized closet, and thought this week I'd share how I store my jewelry. I actually have a dresser sized jewelry box that I adore, however it doesn't fit in my current condo, so I've had to come up with a new solution for all of my jewels! The top drawer to my antique dresser is quite shallow, so I decided it would be a perfect spot. I found the plastic storage unit from Ikea, which I use for my go-to pieces, and keep the rest in boxes. I also display my chunkier necklaces on hooks above my dresser, which keeps them from getting tangled as well as adds some personality to my room!

Birthday Weekend Recap

Whew what a weekend! My boy took me to Seattle for my birthday (such a treat) and let me drag him around the city shopping for the entire trip. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better gift. He was so sweet, especially since I like to go back to the same store about three times before deciding if I want to commit to a purchase or not. (Sorry babe) Other than a flat tire right before heading home, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. I've really started to appreciate snail mail too, and feel so grateful to have received so many lovely cards and goodies from my amazing family and friends back home! Love you all and thank you so so much.

Statement Piece: Pink Blazer

I have been seeing so many great pink blazers outfitted on Pinterest and have been dying for one since. These ladies in the images above style the bold piece perfectly, and I think I will need to add one to my wardrobe as well. What a perfect way to brighten an outfit and your day!

Closet Solutions

I often find it to be a challenge to make a rental space feel like your own. You can't make any permanent changes, and you don't want to invest too much in the space when you don't own it! I ran into this challenge while setting up my closet when we moved into our new (rental) condo. The closet was originally just the one bar across with a shelf on top (I should have taken a before shot!) and I needed to find a non-permanent way to add more storage space. I found this Extend-It Closet System at Canadian Tire, and it was the perfect solution! You can customize the bars however you want and it's portable for when you move. 

My other organization solution was for my bags on the top shelf. I often find they end up in a huge pile, but with these book-ends from Ikea they stand up neatly and it's much easier to see them. (I found this idea on The Glamourai) The hooks on the closet doors and the basket for my chunkier scarves all also aid in keeping my things tidy and accessible. 

Note: I swear my shoes aren't that dirty, it's just how they photographed!

Madewell Spring Preview

Madewell's spring lookbook makes my heart skip a beat. Casual and dressy pieces are paired together to create the perfect sophisticated yet effortless looks. I've never actually been into a Madwell store (only drooled over it online) and look forward to my first time this weekend on my trip to Seattle! (The boy is taking me on a shopping trip for my Birthday, isn't he sweet!) I will try and contain myself and not buy one of everything while I'm there :)
