On a recent trip to Toronto I stumbled upon a new boutique in my old neighbourhood, Bicyclette, and to my surprise I learned that an old coworker, Paige Boersman, owns it!
Paige launched Bicyclette online in August 2010. She then proceeded to do two pop-up shops and in March opened her permanent location on Queen St. West. She strives for a "downtown feel with a touch of whimsical and nostalgia" and achieves this feeling with vintage props and reproduced pieces upon which she displays her product.
Walking into Bicyclette is like walking into every girl's dream. The all white space, with a touch of glitter, has a dream-like feel and the product is to die for! In addition to independent local designers like jewelry designer, Lauren Elan, and textile designer, Danielle Dengerink, you will also find rare lines from around the world and some great vintage pieces.
I was truly inspired by Paige's beautiful boutique and I can't wait to go back to visit again!
