What could brighten your day more than novelty shorts in a playful print? J.Crew has some seriously adorable ones right now that I can't wait to get my hands on. Paired with a blazer or blouse to dress them up, or a light knit sweater to dress them down, I'll take one of each! Now I just need the weather in Vancouver to cooperate.

Machu Picchu
I of course had to save the best for last while sharing our Peru photos. Machu Picchu was with out a doubt the highlight of our trip. Nothing and everything we expected, a life changing experience to say the least.
We took the train from Urubamba to Aguas Calientes, a small yet very busy town at the base of Machu Picchu. Spent the first day exploring Aguas Calientes and enjoying our small tree house hotel, then off to Machu Picchu bright and early the next morning. The weather is hard to predict, and is usually either pouring rain or beating down sun, we lucked out with the sun, but forgot sunscreen (ouch). Although filled with tourists, the views were indescribable and I swear photos do not do the experience justice. After spending several hours exploring we hiked up Wayna Picchu, the large peak behind Machu Picchu, also known as the hike of death. Of course I did not know it went by this name until after safely hiking down the mountain, which was a terrifying experience.
Despite the very painful sunburn I suffered and the near death experience of hiking Wayna Picchu, this was one of the best and most memorable experiences of my life. The one large downside though, is that I seem to have been bitten hard by the travel bug and can think of nothing other than our next trip. I am suddenly more excited about planning our honeymoon than our wedding!
Pisac Market
Photos taken in Pisac and Aguas Calientes
After spending a few days in Cusco, we headed to Urubamba, a town in the Sacred Valley. This was possibly my favourite town in Peru, mainly because it's where we had two of the best meals of our trip (clearly I base everything around food). While in the Sacred Valley we also spent a day in Pisac at the market, which was filled with colourful textiles, jewelry and much more.

Cusco, Peru
We began in Lima, where we stayed for only one night, but made sure to see as much as we could and of course eat as much ceviche as possible. Our next stop was Cusco, a busy tourist city that sits at an elevation of approximately 11, 200 ft (luckily we didn't experience any altitude sickness thanks to lots of water and coca tea). We spent most of our time walking around the city taking in the sights, browsing the shops and enjoying delicious local food at the market.

We didn't plan on taking a big vacation this year, yet somehow we did and I am so glad. Living across the country from close friends is hard, but one of the exciting parts has been meeting each other in different parts of the world. For the past few years this has been in Palm Springs for Coachella, but this year we chose a few different locations. First Costa Rica, where we met several good friends, and then off to Peru just Andrew and I.
Costa Rica was amazing. We stayed in a small surf town called Santa Teresa at the Casas De Soleil, which I highly recommend. Most of our days were spent by our pool enjoying daiquiris and guacamole, but when we weren't relaxing we were bike riding on the beach, paddle boarding or taking our quads to visit the waterfalls.

On The Beach
A few weeks ago Andrew and I got engaged! What started as a typical evening walk along the water turned into one of the most memorable day of my life. I am so overwhelmed and excited (I instantly broke out in hives, such a dork) and cannot wait for this new journey to begin. I look forward to sharing some inspiration and photos along the way, and would love to hear any tips you may have!
