His Birthday

It's his Birthday today. Wishing him a very Happy Birthday! We are spending the evening out for dinner, and celebrating with friends over the weekend. I'm looking forward to having people over at our place for the first time since we moved in. Lots of picture hanging and food preparing to be done!

I can't get enough of chunky scarves with silk dresses. I find the textures mix so nicely together, and feel so perfect for fall. It's almost too cold to wear a dress with bare legs, so I've been taking advantage while I still can!

Pumpkin Cupcakes

I seriously can't get enough of all things pumpkin flavored lately. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin lattes and of course pumpkin cupcakes. I used this recipe for Pumpkin Cupcakes with Chai Cream Cheese Frosting that I found on Gojee, and I'm quite please with the result. The hint of chai in the frosting is such perfect combination with the pumpkin. YUM!

Happy Thanksgiving, Eh

My first Thanksgiving out west included a trip to Whistler, baking my first pumpkin pie, and a day at the Spa Scandinave. Hope all of my Canadian friends enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend as well.

Kathryn Elyse Rogers from Paper Fashion is one of my favorite fashion illustrators. All of her illustrations are full of so much personality and life! I love her use of watercolour with ink, as it gives the linear illustrations such a soft and feminine feeling. You can find her work for sale on etsy, be sure to check it out!

Can you believe these J Brands are my first pair of black jeans? I've never owned a pair! Call me crazy! I LIVE in them now. They seem to make everything I put on feel more chic, and my legs feel extra long. (Which is a plus when you're only a little over 5 feet!)

September was a bit of a quiet month for me. Settling in to my new place with the boy, getting to know our new neighborhood and our new kitchen, and adjusting to the days getting shorter. (Waking up when it's dark is so much harder)

October is my favorite month, so I welcome it with excited open arms! Not only is it Halloween, which I love, but also Canadian Thanksgiving falls in October, my favorite holiday. I think maybe because it revolves around food, and includes pumpkin flavored everything. YUM!
